To mark International Tea Day, Chefs de Tahiti invites you to take a fragrant break with : Tahi’Tea Time. Based in Raiatea, this unique tea creator combines the age-old heritage of Camellia Sinensis with the treasures of the islands, in a deeply ethical, local and sensory approach.
🍃 Tea, a universal staple with a thousand expressions
All teas – black, green, oolong or white – come from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis.the taste and virtues of each tea vary according to the method used to process the leaves and the soil in which they are grown. Tahi’Tea Time selects organic teas in China, chosen not only for their taste, but also for the virtuous chain from which they come: eco-responsible plantations, respect for workers, measured impact.
But the story doesn’t end there. On Raiatea, these exceptional teas meet the products of the Organic Fa’a’apu or in the process of being certified Bio Pasifika: vanilla, ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, carambola, clitoria and many other wonders from Fenua enrich each blend.
🌺 A symphony of local flavours
Tahi’Tea Time is a collection of around twenty original creations in which each infusion tells a Polynesian story.
When it comes to black teas, there are some powerful and generous signatures:
- Roots Power: an energising blend of turmeric, ginger and bird’s eye chilli, to awaken body and mind.
- Coco Coa: a round coconut treat from Tihoti Tarua and cocoa herbal tea from Couleurs Cacao Tahiti, a guilt-free treat!
- Vanille’Thé: Raromatai’s Fier’thé, enhanced by our sweet Taha’a vanilla.
The green teas are fresh, fruity and poetic:
- Taporo Tahi’Ti: all the liveliness of Tahitian lemon in an authentic, vitamin-packed tea.
- Générosi’Thé: a fruity farandole of guava, star fruit, papaya and apple.
- Tea Sex and Stars: a sensual, starry creation with lemongrass, midnight blue clitoria, ginger and passion fruit for a sweet, passionate escape.
And the list goes on… Each sachet is a promise of discovery and surprise.
🌱 Benefits and beliefs
Tea is much more than a drink: it’s a health ally. Rich in polyphenols, it acts as a shield against free radicals, slowing cell ageing and supporting our general well-being.
But for the founder of Tahi’Tea Time, tea is also a revelation of potential: “Combining tea with the flavours of Fenua made me realise the incredible richness of our products. My dream? That one day we’ll be growing tea right here at home. We’ve done some trials… It’s not conclusive yet, but I believe in it. Maybe this idea will catch on elsewhere and bear fruit.
🍽 What’s a good tea with?
“Tea stands on its own,” she says, but for curious gourmets, the combinations are endless:
Black teas: perfect with rich dishes, sweet pastries, roasted meats… or even a good Ma’a Tahiti.
Green teas: exquisite with dried fruit, vegetarian dishes, salads, mild curries, or raw fish in coconut milk.
Tahi’Tea Time: The Art of Tea with a taste of Fenua
Tahi’Tea Time is a taste of a local initiative that makes sense: combining the richness of Fenua products with a sustainable and responsible vision of tea.
Each blend is designed as a tribute to the land, to agricultural know-how, and to the authentic flavours grown with care on Raiatea.
🌿 Take the time to taste this tea, crafted with passion.
